How it works

How does V-UP work?

The body-worn harness, isolated waist-mounted motors and thigh attachments work together. Articulated links are designed to accommodate trunk and leg movement. Each side moves independently, and the mechanism stops above the knee.

V-UP: technical and practical questions

What is V-UP being developed for?

V-UP is being developed to provide active lower-back assistance in industrial tasks involving lifting and repeated bending. Suitability depends on the task, user and working environment.

What is V-UP's current development stage?

V-UP is a working engineering prototype. Controlled movement tests and technical validation are ongoing. The prototype footage does not represent a complete set of final commercial product specifications.

How much assistance does it provide, and how long does the battery last?

Validated commercial values for assistance, weight and battery duration have not yet been published. Share your intended task to discuss the technical evaluation process.

Can the wearer walk and bend?

The current mechanism is designed to accommodate bending, rising, walking and lateral leg movement. Left and right linkages move independently. Range of motion and user fit still need to be assessed during a trial.

What should I share when requesting a demo or pilot?

Start with the task, load weight and dimensions, repetition, workspace, workwear and protective equipment. Trial scope and evaluation criteria are agreed before a demonstration or pilot.
