Choose a beachhead task with economic ownership

The best first customer is not simply interested in innovation. They own a repeated physical task, can provide users and safety support, and have authority over the operational or economic outcome. A narrow use case shortens learning cycles and makes evidence comparable across sites.

A paid pilot aligns commitment and evidence

A pilot can include setup, task assessment, training, configuration, measurement and a decision report. Charging for this work does not require pretending the product is already mature; it recognizes that structured validation and implementation create customer value.

Convert the pilot into a deployment package

Repeatability comes from documented task qualification, fitting, training, inspection, cleaning, service, escalation and outcome review. The product is only one part of the package. If every deployment requires the founders to improvise, the company has not yet created a scalable commercial system.

  • Time and cost to qualify and onboard a site.
  • Device uptime, support load and renewal behavior.

Add channels after the playbook works directly

Distributors can expand reach, but they cannot invent product–market fit. Before channel scale, define which tasks qualify, what evidence is required, who trains and services, how data is governed and where margin is created. The channel should reproduce a proven deployment motion.
